What we do

Joburg Paving Connect helps people in Johannesburg who need paving work find an independent paving contractor who covers their suburb and does that kind of job. That might be a new double driveway in Midrand, a clay-brick patio in Parkhurst, relaying a sunken driveway in Randburg, or paving the common areas of a cluster complex in Fourways.

You send us your suburb, a description of the job and how to reach you. We pass the job to paving contractors who cover your area. The contractor contacts you, visits to measure and quotes you directly. If you accept, your agreement for the work is with the contractor, not with us.

What we are not

We are not a paving contractor. We do not lay, repair, clean or seal paving, we do not supply pavers, we do not set contractors' prices and we do not warrant their work. The contractor is responsible for the quality of the work, any guarantee they give, and compliance with the rules that apply to it, including estate and body corporate rules and the building regulations.

We say this plainly on every page because it matters. You should know who you are dealing with before you share your details or accept a quote.

What we publish, and what we do not

Our pages explain paving choices and Johannesburg ground conditions in plain language, so that you can describe the job well and compare quotes. Where we describe local ground, such as granite soils in the north, the Northcliff ridge or dolomite on the West Rand, we name the study or report we relied on, so you can read it yourself.

Where we give prices, we say which paving contractor or price guide published them. We do not publish prices of our own, and we do not put prices in our search data. We do not publish ratings, review counts, years of experience, registrations, guarantees or response times that we cannot stand behind. If a fact is not confirmed, it is either left out or marked as still to be confirmed.

How contractors are chosen

We pass jobs to paving contractors who cover the suburb concerned and who do the type of work requested. [CONFIRM: contractor vetting criteria, the number of contractors a job may go to, and how contractors are matched to areas]

If we do not have a contractor who covers your suburb or the job you need, we will tell you rather than pass your details on regardless.

Why paving in Johannesburg needs local knowledge

Johannesburg ground changes from one suburb to the next, and most of the city's rain arrives in short, heavy summer storms. A driveway that suits a flat Midrand stand may fail on a steep Northcliff plot. A base that is fine on granite may need more care on dolomite. That is why our pages are organised by area and suburb, and why we pass jobs to contractors who work in your part of the city.
